Greetings. Welcome to my world & website! Thank you for the opportunity to share with you these things that might take you to the next level. My name is Richard Christian Raugust and I have created a work of literary/popular art that is long overdue. Our society is on the fast-track to nowhere good. Some of us don’t have too much to worry about, but this isn’t for us, it is for the other majority that does. This small collection is meant to be a guide for things bigger than ourselves and awaken the innate longing in us all to seek ultimate answers hiding in plain sight.

I happen to be an ex-infantry soldier, trained and groomed to answer the country’s call at the now infamous U.S Army Training School @ Harmony Church, Fort Benning, Georgia. I will admit, quite an unusual name, although standard for a paradox of this nature, unless you consider organized death, destruction and chaos, (performed in a harmonious way of course), being what a country needs to project from time to time in a concerted effort to bring the balance back. In case you might be wondering, the force is with us, our motto is, “ Follow Me.” see also, Matthew 4:19.
I am a student of ‘The Way’ in the Christian Tradition, as I am sure you will be able to tell once you expose yourself to the subject- matter contained in this thin book, lover of life and enjoy making the lives’ of others more enjoyable and meaningful. If you are not aware, yet, I have spent over 18 years in prison for a crime I did not commit. After over six years and thousands of hours at great expense, attorneys from the Montana Innocence Project and law firm of Tipp & Buley, uncovered and shed the light of day on this miscarriage of justice which resulted in my release last December, 2015. I have since been fully exonerated.
If I was forced to describe my poetry-life writing-style, it could certainly be said that I lean towards the spiritual/mystical/religious/empowering realms. In my case, faith is something I am no longer forced to rely upon, as I know and have experienced fantastical events that have led me to walk the path put before me. This is some cosmic dookey beyond my paygrade, and the faith I do use on a daily basis makes this life darn near a walk in the park in a way hard to fathom, subtle yet real.
“FISHERS OF TROUT AND MEN: Protectors Of The Realm is my attempt to share some of what I know about things felt but rarely seen with all of you, and especially, to everyone who has ever worn a military uniform from around the world.
The goal of FTM is to thwart and tamper with the suicide monster in our military and civilian populations and light a fire under your ass to hopefully initiate a dedicated effort in the preservation of your soul. Your future depends on it!
